The Engineering & Systems Integration (ESI) Operating Unit is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Department Manager based in Ogden, Utah. The Department Manager will report to the Engineering Home Room Director within the ESI OU and will lead a team of 80+ engineers and interns supporting various missile, air and communications related projects with a variety of focused disciplines. The Department Manager primary responsibility is to lead his/her Section Manager direct reports with employee staffing, tasking, training, engagement and development.

Responsibilities also include working collaboratively with other Department Managers and the EHR Director in the day to day operation of the functional organization including decisions regarding awards, performance evaluations, leadership reviews, salary review process, staffing, employee engagement action planning, employee movement between programs and sections, balancing resources among programs and departments, employee development, training and mentoring, and interpreting higher level guidance for implementation within the organization. The Department Manager is expected to set a vision and goals for the department consistent with higher level organization and achieve measurable progress toward those goals.

The successful candidate must have strong people and technical leadership skills and has demonstrated the ability to build diverse/inclusive teams in a geographically separated environment. The candidate must also be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of the ESI organization, will have experience leading diverse teams through change, and will have a vision for how they will promote team engagement within this department. They will be responsible for ensuring the department provides staffing to meet program requirements and providing functional leadership and direction to employees. Employees are located at Ogden and Clearfield Utah as well as San Bernardino and El Segundo California.
