OVERVIEW: Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Electrical/Systems Engineer to provide Nuclear Hardness engineering leadership for the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system and other programs.

JOB DUTIES: Perform and coordinate the work of several other hardness engineers in conducting nuclear hardness analyses, tests, and design. Serve as primary interface to program management and AF customers for hardness and EM effects domain expertise. Ensure hardness and EM effects are considered in program planning and execution. Required areas of expertise include electromagnetic effects (MIL-STD-461, EMP, lightning, ESD, HPM), ionizing radiation (gamma, neutron, and x-ray), and mechanical effects. Must have strong experience in electromagnetic effects; other team members have moderate to strong experience with EM, radiation and mechanical effects. Job requires a broad range of electrical experience (power, controls, RF, and circuit analysis). Experience in designing EM effects mitigation circuitry. Must be capable and interested in leading and coordinating the work of several hardness engineers across a wide array of projects. Fluent in using simulation tools for electromagnetic and radiation analyses, including PSPICE, Microcap, MATLAB, ANSYS modeling suites, Attila, and MCNP6 (or similar).
