Job Description
We are conducting a Director of Sales search for Hampton Inn in Ogden, UT.
Job Summary: In a historical setting amid the quaintness of Ogden, the art-deco Hampton Inn & Suites is unique. Originally a bank building, the hotel was completely remodeled into a modern beauty that is located in downtown Ogden and connected to Eccles Conference Center. The hotel is close to Weber State University 45 miles from Salt Lake City.
The beautiful contemporary designs of this hotel compliment the urban lifestyle. The hotel features complimentary hot breakfast, fitness center, business center, gift shop, valet parking and an indoor hot tub. Guest room amenities include complimentary high-speed internet access, complimentary local calls and the new, luxurious “Make-It-Hampton” bedding. Suites include fully-equipped kitchens and wonderful views.
Major Responsibilities: As a Director of Sales you will be an intricate part of the team. • Be incredibly friendly, customer centric, love to smile and have FUN in a team environment.
• Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
• Building and leading a sales team.
• Driving group business through various networks, cold calling and visiting local businesses in your immediate market.
• Effectively managing the workflow through the Sales Pro system, properly responding and filing data per company and brand standards.
• Actively participating in promotional, community, and industry events- cultivating a strong network
• Understanding the hotel’s operations, including room types, meeting capacities, service, features and benefits
• Reviewing monthly STAR reports and creating action plans as assigned
• Communicating with Revenue Management and GM to ensure that pricing is appropriate and adjust selling strategies as needed.
• Recruit, hire, train, and provide career development for all sales personnel; conducts performance evaluations and provides feedback to employees using company hiring standards and guidelines.
• Provide sales training and development for all front desk personnel to ensure all guest inquiries and needs are consistently executed.
• Execute hotel-level tactical sales and marketing plans to support overall system-wide sales plans/strategies and programs.
• Manage the departmental budget and monitors sales activities/performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan; accurately reports variances/projections.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
Job Requirements:
• Minimum one year Director of Sales experience or 2 years Hotel Sales Management and Staff Leadership experience in full-service hotels of similar size and caliber.
• Ability to interpret and perform basic computer functions, including MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
